This workshop will only have a limited number of participants. I really want to keep a small group so you can enjoy this experience to the fullest!

Workshop: Day 1

Day 1

Welcome to Reykjavik! We will meet late afternoon in the lobby of our host hotel and go from there to a nearby restaurant for a meet and greet Welcome Dinner where we get to know each other and have a chat about what we will be doing during the coming week.

Note: Upon arriving to Iceland, we suggest using the FlyBus service from Keflavik Airport to the host hotel in Reykjavik. Taxis are also available near the terminal building. The FlyBus service is located right outside the terminal building and the cost is around $35USD each way. Book online using the FlyBus Plus service which will drop you off at your hotel. You can book a round trip to take you back to the airport after the tour. Book FlyBus online:

1. Visit https://www.re.is/flybus

2. Choose the FlyBus+ service which will ask for your hotel information.

3. Pay online.

Accommodation: Fosshótel, Reykjavík

Workshop: Days 2-3

Day 2-3

Leave Reykjavík early and head to the highlands, our first location, where Hrauneyjar Hotel will be our base for the next 2 nights. From here we will travel to several locations in the highlands, and as always we base our decision on the weather forecast and conditions each time. Locations in the highlands we will visit include (but are not limited to): Háifoss (Fourth tallest waterfall in Iceland with a drop of 122m) and Granni (situated right next to Háifoss) which are situated in Fossá where they drop side by side in a deep gorge.

The destination on this leg of the tour is the unspoiled highland nature. This is an exceptional place for photography where we encounter lava fields, jet black volcanic sands stretching for miles, mountains covered with bright green moss and colourful craters filled with water.

The highland is covered in geothermal hotspots and previous volcanic activity is often evident, a tell-tale sign of the gigantic forces at work, some a few hundred years ago and others only decades old. The best-known location in the highlands is probably Landmannalaugar where we will photograph colourful rhyolite mountains. This place is like nothing else you‘ve seen before. In Landmannalaugar we have the option of do several short hikes, like into the canyon Grænagil (green canyon) or even hike up to Brennisteinsalda which is a Sulphur mountain/hill.

Workshop: Day 4

Day 4

On our last day up here we will drive through the highlands to a canyon called Eldgjá which holds a beautiful waterfall called Ófærurfoss.

We will photograph there before we leave the highlands. Perhaps we will encounter ranchers on horseback herding moving their flocks of sheep from the highlands to the coastal lowland farms for the winter.

Workshop: Day 5-6

Day 5-6

Glacier Lagoon, one of the most famous places in Iceland with its floating icebergs will be our playground.

The mystical and iconic Diamond Beach is located just below the lagoon and provides unparralled opportunities to capture the quintessential diamond on the black sand beach image.

On one of the days we are staying in this area we will go to Mt.Vestrahorn, a mountain of raw and rugged beauty with many composition options like sand dunes, reflection and waves.

Accommodation 2 nights close to the lagoon Hotel Hotel Gerdi.

Workshop: Day 7

Day 7

We’ll shoot sunrise and then we start head our way west towards Vík where we will be photographing stunning seascapes, Dyrhólaey, Reynisdrangar and majestic waterfalls like Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss among other things.

Accommodation 1 night Hotel Dyrholaey, Vík.

Workshop: Day 8

Day 8

This is our last day on the road, depending on the conditions we might visit the famous Golden Circle, head to Reykjanes peninsula or even spend some more time on the south coast before we go and check into our hotel in the afternoon.

We will gather this evening to celebrate the amazing images we captured at our Farewell Dinner.
Accommodation one night Fosshótel, Reykjavík.
